General Training Pathway

Career Start is one of the Queensland Government’s core funded vocational education and training (VET) programs, managed by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET).

Career Start offers job seekers access to free or low-cost training, along with the skills and support they need to begin their career.

How does the program work?

SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality is delivered through a general training pathway for direct enrolment and you are not required to enter into a traineeship with an employer.

SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality. 15 units must be completed, 6 Core and 9 Electives.

Co-contribution fees

Students enrolled in certificate III qualification are required to contribute to the cost of training through a co-contribution fee.

The total qualification fee for non-concessional students is $300.00, $20.00 per unit of competency.
The total qualification fee for concessional students is $150.00, $10.00 per unit of competency. Valid evidence of concessional status must be provided.

Fees are invoiced upon successful completion of each unit of competency. No fee applies to units granted through credit transfer.

Co-contribution fees exemptions

Concessional student status applies when the student falls into one of the following categories:
- Holds a Health Care, Veteran or Pensioner Concession Card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds such a card and is named on the card;
- Holds an official form issued under Commonwealth law confirming that they, their partner, or the person of whom they are a dependant is entitled to concessions under a Health Care, Veteran or Pensioner Concession Card;
- Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
- Has a disability;
- Is an adult prisoner.
